Solution:
Steps of construction
1. Draw a rough sketch of a triangle with measurements marked on it.
2. Construct a line segment AB of 3 cm
3. Construct an angle 45° on the point B and produce it to ray Y.
4. Taking B as centre, construct an arc of 3 cm which intersects ray BY at C.
5. Now join AC.
Therefore, triangle ABC is the required isosceles triangle.
