Devangi travels 50 m distance in 75 steps, then the distance travelled in 375 steps is _______ km
Solution:
No. of Steps Distance Travelled
75 50 m
375 x = ?
A distance of 50 m is covered by taking 75 steps, hence by taking 375 steps the distance covered will be obviously more. Hence, the number of steps is directly proportional to the distance covered.
x = 50 × (375/75)
x = 50 × 5
x = 250 m
x = 0.250 Km
✦ Try This: Devangi travels 125 m distance in 150 steps, then the distance travelled in 450 steps is _______ km.
No. of Steps Distance Travelled
150 125 m
450 x = ?
A distance of 125 m is covered by taking 150 steps, hence by taking 450 steps the distance covered will be obviously more. Hence,
x = 125 × (450/150)
x = 125 × 3
x = 375 m
x = 0.375 Km
