Construct a trapezium RISK in which RI || KS, RI = 7 cm, IS = 5 cm, RK = 6.5 cm and ∠I = 60°.
Solution:
Given, RISK is a trapezium in which RI || KS.
RI = 7 cm, IS = 5 cm, RK = 6.5 cm and ∠I = 60°.
We have to construct a trapezium RISK.
We know that the sum of the adjacent angles of a trapezium are supplementary.
So, ∠I + ∠S = 180°
60° + ∠S = 180°
∠S = 180° - 60°
∠S = 120°
To construct a trapezium RISK,
1. Draw an arc RI = 7 cm
2. Make an arc ∠RIX = 60°
3. With I as center and radius 5cm, draw an arc cutting IX at S.
4. Make ∠ISY = 120°
5. With R as center and radius 6.5cm, draw an arc cutting SY at K.
6. Join KR.
Thus, RISK is the required trapezium.
