Circumference of a circle is 33 cm. Find its area.
Solution:
Consider r as the radius of circle
2πr = 33
r = 33/2π
By further calculation
r = 33/2 × 7/22
r = 21/4
So the radius is 21/4 cm
We know that
Area of circle = πr²
Substituting the values
= 22/7 × 21/4 × 21/4
= 693/8 cm²
Therefore, the area of the circle is 693/8 cm².
