Campus and Welfare Committee of school is planning to develop a blue shade for painting the entire school building. For this purpose various shades are tried by mixing containers of blue paint and white paint. In each of the following mixtures, decide which is lighter shade of blue and also find the lightest blue shade among all of them.
If one container has one litre paint and the building requires 105 litres for painting, how many containers of each type is required to paint the building in the darkest blue shade
Solution:
Between Mixture A and Mixture B, the former one i.e. Mixture A is the lighter shade because the ratio of blue to white for mixture A is 3:4 (three cans of blue there are 4 cans of white). while for mixture B the ratio is 3:3 i.e. for three cans of blue there are 3 cans of whjite.
Between Mixture C and Mixture D, the latter i.e. Mixture D is the lighter shade because it has only two cans of blue paint mixed with 5 cans of white paint (2:5). Mixture C is in the ratio 3:3 i.e. 3 cans of blue and 3 cans of white.
Between Mixture E and Mixture F the latter i.e. Mixture F is the lighter shade because 4 cans of blue are mixed with 2 cans of white paints. In mixture E 5 cans of blue paint are just mixed with one can of white.
Between the Mixture G and the Mixture H the former i.e. Mixture G is the lighter shade because the ratio of blue:white is 3:3 and for mixture H the ratio blue:white is 4:3.
The lightest blue of shade is the mixture D because the ratio of the blue shade and white shade is 2:5 i.e. for two cans of blue paint there are 5 cans of white paint.
If one container has one litre paint and the building requires 105 litres for painting,
The number of blue containers required = (2/7)× 105 = 2 ×15 = 30
The number of white containers required = (5/7) ×105 = 5 ×15 = 75

For this purpose various shades are tried by mixing containers of blue paint and white paint. In each of the following mixtures decide which is the darker shade of blue and also find the darkest blue shade among all of them.
Between Mixture A and Mixture B, the former one i.e. Mixture A is the darker shade because the ratio of blue to white for mixture A is 3:1 (three cans of blue there are 1 cans of white). while for mixture B the ratio is 2:3 i.e. for two cans of blue there are 3 cans of whjite.
Between Mixture C and Mixture D, the former i.e. Mixture C is the darker shade because it has only two cans of blue paint mixed with 3 cans of white paint (2:3). Mixture C is in the ratio 2:5 i.e. 2 cans of blue and 5 cans of white.
Between Mixture E and Mixture F the latter i.e. Mixture E is the darker shade because 4 cans of blue are mixed with 1 can of white paint. In mixture F 4 cans of blue paint are just mixed with two cans of white.
Between the Mixture G and the Mixture H the latter i.e. Mixture H is of the darker shade because the ratio of blue:white is 3:2 and for mixture G the ratio blue:white is 3:2.
The darkest blue of shade is the mixture R because the ratio of the blue shade and white shade is 4:1 i.e. for four cans of blue paint there is 1 can of white paint.
