At a Birthday Party, the children spin a wheel to get a gift. Find the probability of
(a) getting a ball
(b) getting a toy car
(c) any toy except a chocolate
Solution:
There are 8 sectors in the pie chart
(i) Probability of getting a ball is 2/8 = 1/4 since ball is in two sectors out of 8 sectors
(ii) Probability of getting a toy car is 3/8 since toy car is in 3 sectors
(iii) Getting any toy except chocolate = total - chocolate = 8 - 1 = 7
Probability = 7/8
