The cost of the book to Arnav is Rs. 600
Sales Tax which is calculated on the cost price.
Sales Tax Rate = 7%
Amount of Sales Tax = 7% of Rs. 600
= (7/100) × 600
= 7 × 6
= Rs. 42
Therefore the amount payable by Arnav is:
Cost Price + Sales Tax = Rs. 600 + Rs. 42
= Rs. 642
Hence the statement is true.
