Solution:
A parallelogram is defined as a quadrilateral in which both pairs of opposite sides are parallel and equal.
We know that
Area of parallelogram = base × height
From the figure
Area of parallelogram ABCD = AD × BE
As AD = BC
Area of parallelogram ABCD = BC × BE
Or
Area of parallelogram ABCD = DC × BF
Therefore, the area of parallelogram is not equal to DE × DC.
