An angle which is half of its supplement is of __________. Fill in the blanks to make the statement true
Solution:
Given, an angle which is half of its supplement is of __________.
We have to fill in the blanks to make the statement true.
Let the required angle be x.
Two angles are said to be supplementary angles if they add up to 180 degrees.
Supplement of angle x = 180° - x
According to the question,
x = 1/2 (180° - x)
x = 180°/2 - x/2
x = 90° - x/2
x + x/2 = 90°
x[(2+1)/2] = 90°
x(3/2) = 90°
x = 90°(2)/3
x = 30°(2)
x = 60°
Therefore, the required angle is 60°.
