A truck carrying 7.8 m³ concrete arrives at a job site. A platform of width 5 m and height 2 m is being constructed at the site. Find the length of the platform, constructed from the amount of concrete on the truck?
Solution:
The Length of the platform which can be constructed from 7.8 m³ of concrete is calculated as follows:
Volume of the Platform = Length(L) × Width(W) × height(H)
Volume of Platform = Volume of Concrete = 7.8m³
Length(L) × 5(W) × 2(H) = 7.8
L = 7.8/10 = 0.78 metres
✦ Try This: A truck carrying 12 m³ concrete arrives at a job site. A platform of width 4 m and height 1.5 m is being constructed at the site. Find the length of the platform, constructed from the amount of concrete on the truck?
The Length of the platform which can be constructed from 12 m³ of concrete is calculated as follows:
Volume of the Platform = Length(L) × Width(W) × height(H)
Volume of Platform = Volume of Concrete = 12m³
Length(L) × 4(W) × 1.5(H) = 12
L = 3/1.5 = 2 metres
