Solution:

Total Number of sweets in the packet = 10 × 4 = 40

If the total number of sweets is divided amongst 8 children the:

Sweets received by each children = 40/8 = 5 sweets

✦ Try This: A packet of sweets was distributed among 16 children and each of them received 1 sweet. If it is distributed among 4 children, how many sweets will each child get?

Total Number of sweets in the packet = 16 × 1 = 16

If the total number of sweets is divided amongst 4 children the:

Sweets received by each children = 16/4 = 4 sweets
