We have to find the number of soldiers left out.

According to the question,

Number of soldiers in each row is equal to the number of rows

Let the number of soldiers in each row = x

So, the number of rows = x

Total number of soldiers = x²

Now, x² = 7500

Taking square root,

x = √7500

By using long division method,

We observe that the remainder on long division is 104.

Therefore, the number of soldiers left out were 104.
