A dice is rolled once. What is the probability that the number on top will be
(a) Odd
(b) Greater than 5
(c) A multiple of 3
(d) Less than 1
(e) A factor of 36
(f) A factor of 6
Solution:
when a dice is rolled
(a) Probability of getting an odd number is 3/6 = 1/2
(b) We have only one face with value greater than 5, hence, the probability is 1/6
(c) We have only two multiples of 3 on dice face, hence, the probability 2/6 = 1/3
(d) There is no number less than 1 on dice, hence the probability is 0
(e) Factors of 36 are 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, hence probability is 5/6
(f) Factors of 6 are 1, 2, 3, 6 hence probability is 4/6 = 2/3
