A cube is a three-dimensional figure as shown in Fig 11.11. It has six faces and all of them are identical squares. The length of an edge of the cube is given by l. Find the formula for the total length of the edges of a cube.

Solution:
We will be using the formula for the total length of the edges of a cube.
We know that in a cube there are 12 edges and all the edges are of equal length.
Thus, the total length of the edges of a cube = 12 × side-length units
= 12 × l
= 12l units
Therefore, 12l is the formula to calculate the total length of edges of a cube.
