A car runs 16 km using 1 litre of petrol. How much distance will it cover using \(2{\Large\frac{3}{4}}\) litres of petrol
Solution:
Distance covered by the car using 1 litre of petrol = 16 km
By converting a mixed number into improper fractions,
\(2{\Large\frac{3}{4}}\) litres = 11/4 litres
Distance covered by using \(2{\Large\frac{3}{4}}\) litres of petrol = 16 km × 11/4
= 44 km
Thus, 44 km distance will be covered by the car using \(2{\Large\frac{3}{4}}\) litres of petrol.
