800 kg of mortar consists of 55% sand, 33% cement and rest lime. What is the mass of lime in mortar
Solution:
Given, 800 kg of mortar consists of 55% sand, 33% cement and rest lime.
We have to find the mass of lime in mortar.
Total weight of mortar = 800 kg
Percentage of sand = 55%
Percentage of cement = 33%
Percentage of lime = 100 - 55 - 33
= 100 - 88
= 12%
Amount of lime = 12% of 800 kg
= (12/100) × 800
= 12 × 8
= 96 kg
Therefore, the mass of lime is 96 kg.
