We have to fill in the blanks to make the statement true.

Let 3x + 23x² + 6y² + 2x + y² + N = 5x + 7y².

So, N = 5x + 7y² - (3x + 23x² + 6y² + 2x + y²)

N = 5x - 3x - 2x - 23x² + 7y² - 6y² - y²

= (5 - 3 - 2)x - 23x² + (7 - 6 - 1)y²

= (5 - 5)x - 23x² + (7 - 7)y²

= -23x²

Therefore, N = -23x²
