We have to find the roots of the equation.
By using the quadratic formula,
x = [-b ± √b² - 4ac]/2a
Here, a = 2, b = -3 and c = -5
b² - 4ac = (-3)² - 4(2)(-5)
= 9 + 40
= 49
x = [- (-3) ± √49]/2(2)
x = [3 ± 7]/4
Now, x = (3+7)/4 = 10/4 = 5/2
x = (3-7)/4 = -4/4 = -1
Therefore, the roots of the equation are 5/2 and -1.
