(4/3)⁵ × (5/7)⁵ = [(4/3) + (5/7)]⁵. State whether the given statement is true or false
Solution:
Given, (4/3)⁵ × (5/7)⁵ = [(4/3) + (5/7)]⁵
We have to determine if the given statement is true or false.
LHS : Considering (4/3)⁵ × (5/7)⁵,
For any non-zero integers ‘a’ and ‘b’ and whole numbers m and n,
am × bm = (a×b)m
Here, a = 4/3, b = 5/7 and m = 5
(a×b)m = [(4/3) × (5/7)]⁵
= RHS
LHS = RHS
So, (4/3)⁵ × (5/7)⁵ = [(4/3) + (5/7)]⁵
Therefore, the given statement is true.
✦ Try This: (5/7)⁴ × (3/4)⁴ = [(5/7) + (3/4)]⁴. State whether the given statement is true or false
