IMO Class 8 Exam Pattern

The International math olympiad conducted by SOF intends to recognize and encourage math talent. The exam is held annually in two stages: Level-1 and Level-2. The questions covered in the class 8 International Maths Olympiad exam are based on the academic syllabus of various state boards. In level-1 IMO exam students have to answer 50 multiple-choice questions from 4 sections viz. Logical Reasoning, Mathematical Reasoning, Achievers Section and Everyday Mathematics.

• Section-1 is Logical Reasoning and it covers total 15 questions of 1 mark each.
• Section-2 is Mathematical Reasoning and has 20 questions of 1 mark each.
• Section-3 is Everyday Mathematics that includes 10 questions of 1 mark each.
• Section-4 is Achievers Section. This section has 5 questions of 3 marks each.

Level-1 Exam duration is 1 hour and the total marks are 60. For the level-2 IMO exam students have to clear the level-1 IMO exam.
