IMO Class 5 Exam Pattern
International Math Olympiad (IMO) organized by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) is held on both national and international levels. The exam is conducted on an annual basis in two stages- Level-1 and Level-2. The questions asked in the class 5 IMO exam are based on the academic syllabus of various national and international school boards. Level-1 IMO exam comprises 50 multiple-choice questions from 4 sections.

- Section-4 is Achievers Section.
There are 15 questions of 1 mark each from logical reasoning, 20 questions of 1 mark each in mathematical reasoning, 10 questions of 1 mark each from everyday mathematics and 5 questions of 3 marks each from achievers section. The duration of the exam is 60 minutes and the total marks are 60. For level-2 IMO exam students have to clear the level-1 IMO exam.

Numerals, Number names and Number Sense (7 and 8 digit numbers), Computation Operations, Measurement of Length, Weight, Capacity, Time, Temperature and Money, Conversions, Fractions and Decimals, Geometrical Shapes and Solids, Angles, Perimeter of Various Shapes & Area of Rectangle and Square, Symmetry, Data Handling.
Section – 3: The syllabus for this section is as per the topics provided in section–2.
Section – 4: This section covers higher-order thinking questions based on the topics incorporated in the syllabus of section – 2.
