Trigonometric Ratios Calculator
Trigonometric ratios are defined as the values of all trigonometric functions based on ratios of sides of a right-angle triangle. In trigonometry, there are six trigonometric ratios, namely, sine, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant, and cotangent.
What is Trigonometric Ratios Calculator?
'Trigonometric Ratios Calculator' is an online tool that helps to calculate the values of trigonometric ratios. Trigonometric ratios can be used to determine the ratios of any two sides out of a total of three sides of a right-angled triangle in terms of the respective angles. Online Trigonometric Ratios Calculator helps you to calculate the values of trigonometric ratios in a few seconds.

How to Find Trigonometric Ratios Calculator?
In a given right angle triangle SBC,
SC = Hypotenuse
SB = Opposite side or perpendicular side(opposite to θ)
BC = Adjacent side or base(adjacent to θ)
'θ' is the angle between two sides.
sinθ = Opposite side / Hypotenuse
cosθ = Adjacent side / Hypotenuse
tanθ = Opposite side / Adjacent side
cosecθ = Hypotenuse / Opposite side
secθ = Hypotenuse / Adjacent side
cotθ = Adjacent side / Opposite side
These are the six trigonometric ratios.
Solved Examples on Trigonometric Ratios Calculator
Example 1:
Find the trigonometric ratios if the hypotenuse is 5 units, opposite side is 3 units, and adjacent side is 4 units.
Solution:
sinθ = Opposite side / Hypotenuse = 3 / 5 = 0.6
cosθ = Adjacent side / Hypotenuse = 4 / 5 = 0.8
tanθ = Opposite side / Adjacent side = 3 / 4 = 0.75
cosecθ = Hypotenuse / Opposite side = 5 / 3 = 1.67
secθ = Hypotenuse / Adjacent side = 5 / 4 = 1.25
cotθ = Adjacent side / Opposite side = 4 / 3 = 1.33
Example 2:
Find the trigonometric ratios if the hypotenuse is 10 units, opposite side is 4 units, and adjacent side is 7 units.
Solution:
sinθ = Opposite side / Hypotenuse = 4 / 10 = 0.4
cosθ = Adjacent side / Hypotenuse = 7 / 10 = 0.7
tanθ = Opposite side / Adjacent side = 4 / 7 = 0.57
cosecθ = Hypotenuse / Opposite side = 10 / 4 = 2.5
secθ = Hypotenuse / Adjacent side = 10 / 7 = 1.42
cotθ = Adjacent side / Opposite side = 7 / 4 = 1.75
Similarly, you can use the calculator to find the trigonometric ratios for the following:
- Hypotenuse = 26 units, opposite side = 10 units, and adjacent side = 24 units
- Hypotenuse = 13 units, opposite side = 5 units, and adjacent side = 12 units
