Solved Examples on Multiples calculator
Example 1:
Find the first five multiples of 5.
Solution:
To get the first five multiples of a number, we multiply that number by the first five natural numbers.
- So, to get the first multiple of 5, we multiply 5 by 1, i.e., 5 × 1 = 5
- Similarly, to get the second multiple, we multiply 5 by 2, i.e., 5 × 2 = 10
- The third multiple of 5 is 5 × 3 = 15
- The fourth multiple of 5 is 5 × 4 = 20
- The fifth multiple of 5 is 5 × 5 = 25
∴ The first five multiples of 5 are {5, 10, 15, 20, 25}.
Example 2:
Find the first five multiples of 8.
Solution:
To get the first five multiples of a number, we multiply that number by the first five natural numbers.
- So, to get the first multiple of 8, we multiply 8 by 1, i.e., 8 × 1 = 8
- Similarly, to get the second multiple, we multiply 8 by 2, i.e., 8 × 2 = 16
- The third multiple of 8 is 8 × 3 = 24
- The fourth multiple of 8 is 8 × 4 = 32
- The fifth multiple of 8 is 8 × 5 = 40
∴ The first five multiples of 5 are {8, 16, 24 32, 40}.
Example 3:
Find the first five multiples of 11.
Solution:
To get the first five multiples of a number, we multiply that number by the first five natural numbers.
- So, to get the first multiple of 11, we multiply 11 by 1, i.e., 11 × 1 = 11
- Similarly, to get the second multiple, we multiply 11 by 2, i.e., 11 × 2 = 22
- The third multiple of 11 is 11 × 3 = 33
- The fourth multiple of 11 is 11 × 4 = 44
- The fifth multiple of 11 is 11 × 5 = 55
∴ The first five multiples of 5 are {11, 22, 33, 44, 55}.
