Displacement Calculator
Displacement is defined as the change in the position of an object.
What is Displacement Calculator?
'Cuemath's Displacement Calculator' is an online tool that helps to calculate the value of displacement. Cuemath's online Displacement Calculator helps you to calculate the value of displacement in a few seconds.
How to Use Displacement Calculator?
Please follow the steps below on how to use the calculator:
- Step 1: Enter the initial velocity, final velocity, and time in the given input box.
- Step 2: Click on the "Calculate" button to find the value of displacement.
- Step 3: Click on the "Reset" button to clear the fields and enter new values.
How to Find Displacement?
The displacement is defined as the product of average velocity and time. SI unit of displacement is meter(m).
Average velocity = (Vi + Vf) / 2
Where Vi is initial velocity and Vf is the final velocity in units m / sec.
Displacement = average velocity × time = ((Vi + Vf) / 2) × t
Where Vi is initial velocity, Vf is final velocity, and t is time in seconds.
Solved Example:
Find displacement if the initial velocity is 4 m/sec, the final velocity is 6 m/sec, and time is 20 sec?
Solution:
Given: Initial velocity(Vi) = 4 m/sec, final velocity(Vf) = 6 m/sec, time = 20 sec
Average velocity = (Vi + Vf) / 2
= (4 + 6) / 2
= 5 m/sec
Displacement = average velocity × t
= 5 × 20
= 100 m
Similarly, you can use the calculator to find the displacement for:
- Initial velocity(Vi) = 14 m/sec, final velocity(Vf) = 6 m/sec, time = 10 sec
- Initial velocity(Vi) = 7 m/sec, final velocity(Vf) = 9 m/sec, time = 15 sec
