    Hence, James has 96 pens in his collection.

    Example 2 On her birthday, Margot wants to give 12 chocolates to each student of her class. If there are 20 students in her class, how many chocolates should she distribute?

    Solution

    Number of chocolates Margot wants to give to each student = 12
    Number of chocolates she should distribute among 20 students = 20 × 12 = 240
