x + y = 3.3, 0.6/3x - 2y = -1. 3x -2y ≠ 0, solve the equation
Solution:
From the above question, we have the linear equations as,
x + y = 3.3-----------(1)
0.6/3x - 2y = -1.
By cross multiplication
0.6 = -3x + 2y
3x - 2y = -0.6--------(2)
Multiplying (1) by 2 and by adding with (2)
5x = 6
x = 6/5
x = 1.2
Substituting the value of x in (1),
1.2 + y = 3.3
y = 3.3 - 1.2
y = 2.1.
x = 1.2
y = 2.1.
Therefore, x = 1.2 and y = 2.1.
✦ Try This: Solve the following equation: x + y = 3.5, 0.6/3x - 2y = -5. 3x -2y ≠ 0
