x/3 + y/4 = 4. 5x/6 - y/8 = 4, solve the equation
Solution:
From the above question, we have the linear equations as,
x/3 + y/4 = 4.
4x + 3y = 48.---------------(1)
5x/6 - y/8 = 4.
20x - 3y = 96.--------------(2)
Adding (1) and (2),we get,
24x = 144
x = 6.
Substituting the value of x in (1),we get,
4 x 6 + 3y = 48
3y = 48 - 24
3y = 24
y = 8.
x = 6.
y = 8.
Therefore, the required values of x and y are 6 and 8, respectively.
✦ Try This: Solve the following equation: x/3 + y/4 = 6. 5x/6 - y/8 = 6
