What other name can you give to the line of symmetry of
(a) an isosceles triangle?
(b) a circle?
Solution:
We use the concepts of symmetry and some concepts of triangles to solve the problem.
We know that an isosceles triangle has only one line of symmetry and this is the line segment joining a vertex to the midpoint of the opposing side, and bisecting it. So, we can call it a median;
A circle has infinitely many lines of symmetry passing through the centre, so we can definitely call it, a diameter.
Thus, the other name that can be given to the line of symmetry of
(a) An isosceles triangle is Median
(b) A circle is Diameter
