Cost of Brand X = Rs. 70

Cost + Sales tax = Rs. 75

Sales Tax = Rs. 75 - Rs. 70 = Rs. 5

Sales Tax Rate on Brand X in % = (Sales Tax/Cost) × 100 = (5/70) × 100 = 7.14%

Sales tax Rate of Brand Y

Cost of Brand Y= Rs. 62

Cost + Sales tax = Rs. 65

Sales Tax = Rs. 65 - Rs. 62 = Rs. 3

Sales Tax Rate on Brand Y in % = (Sales Tax/Cost) × 100 = (3/62) × 100 = 4.84%
