The following is the map of a town. The ratio of the number of general stores and that of the ground is
(a) 1 : 2
(b) 2 : 1
(c) 2 : 3
(d) 3 : 2
Solution:
Given, the figure represents the map of a town.
represents school
represents hospital
represents ground
represents general stores
We have to find the ratio of the number of general stores and that of the ground.
From the given map,
From the first row, there is one ground
From the second row, there are 2 groundsl
From the third row, there is one ground.
Total number of ground = 1 + 2 + 1 = 4
From the given map,
From the first row, there are 2 general stores
From the second row, there is one general store
From the third row, there are 3 general stores.
Total number of general stores = 2 + 1 + 3 = 6
Required ratio = 6 : 4
= 3 : 2
Therefore, the required ratio is 3 : 2
