The following double bar graph represents test matches results summary for Cricket Team of country X against different countries:
Use the bar graph to answer the following questions:
(a) Which country has managed maximum wins against country X?
(b) The difference between the number of matches won and lost is highest for which country against country X?
(c) Number of wins of country E is the same as number of losses of which country against country X?
Solution:
Given, the double bar graph represents test matches results summary for Cricket Team of country X against different countries.
(a) We have to determine the country which has managed maximum wins against country X.
From the graph,
We observe that country B has won 16 matches compared to other countries.
Therefore, country B has managed maximum wins against country X.
(b) We have to determine the difference between the number of matches won and lost is highest for which country against country X.
The difference between the number of matches won and lost,
Country A = 32 - 15 = 17
Country B = 34 - 16 = 18
Country C = 14 - 8 = 6
Country D = 11 - 7 = 3
Country E = 6 - 3 = 3
Country F = 10 - 3 = 7
Country G = 30 - 10 = 20
We observe that country G has maximum difference between the number of matches won and lost.
Therefore, the difference between the number of matches won and lost is highest for country G against country X.
(c) We have to find the number of wins of country E is the same as number of losses of which country against country X.
From the graph,
Number of wins of country E = 3
Numbre of losses is 3 for country F
Therefore, the number of wins of country E is the same as number of losses of country F against country X
