Given, the layout represents two bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen and living room.
We have to write an expression to calculate the perimeter of the living room.
Perimeter is the total length of the boundary of any closed shape.
So, perimeter = sum of all sides
Perimeter of living room = 15 + 2 + x + 5 + (15 - x) + 2 + 5
= 15 + 2 + x + 5 + 15 - x + 2 + 5
= 15 + 15 + 2 + 2 + 5 + 5
= 30 + 4 + 10
= 40 + 4
= 44 m
Therefore, the perimeter of the living room is 44 m.
