(d) For which sport is the number of students of Class VII less than that of Class VIII?
(e) For how many sports students of Class VIII are less than Class VII?
(f) Find the ratio of students who like Badminton in Class VII to students who like Tennis in Class VIII.

Solution:

Given, the double graph represents the sports liked by the number of students in class VII and class VIII.

(a) We have to find the sport liked the most by class VII students

From the graph, the highest value in Class VII is found to be in cricket.

Cricket is the sport most liked by class VII students.

(b) We have to find the number of students of Class VII like Hockey and Tennis in all

Number of students who like Hockey = 7

Number of students who like Tennis = 10

Total number of students who like Hockey and tennis = 7 + 10 = 17

(c) We have to find the total number of students in class VII

Number of students = 7 + 16 + 18 + 10 + 14 = 65

(d) We have to determine for which sport the number of students of Class VII is less than that of Class VIII.

From the graph,

Number of students who like cricket in class VII = 18

Number of students who like cricket in class VIII = 20

For the sport cricket, the number of students of Class VII is less than that of Class VIII.

(e) We have to determine for how many sports students of Class VIII are less than Class VII.

From the graph,

For Hockey, Tennis, Football and Badminton the students of class VIII are less than class VII.

(f) We have to find the ratio of students who like Badminton in Class VII to students who like Tennis in Class VIII.

Number of students who like Badminton in Class VIII = 7

Number of students who like Badminton in Class VII = 14

Ratio = 14/7

= 2 : 1
