We have to find the number of flowers she had in the beginning.

Let the number of flowers in the beginning be x.

According to the question,

Flowers offered in the first temple = x/2

Remaining flowers = x - x/2

= (2 - 1)x/2

= x/2

Flowers offered in the second temple = (x/2)/2

= x/4

Remaining flowers = x/2 - x/4

= x/4

Flowers offered in the third temple = (x/4)/2

= x/8

Remaining flowers = x/4 - x/8

= x/8

Given, x/8 = 3

x = 3(8)

x = 24

Therefore, the number of flowers is 24.
