Observe the given data:
(a) Draw a bar graph to represent the above given information.
(b) On which day of the week was the sales maximum?
(c) Find the total sales during the week.
(d) Find the ratio of the minimum sale to the maximum sale.
(e) Calculate the average sale during the week.
(f) On how many days of the week was the sale above the average sales?
Solution:
Given, the table represents the number of mobile phones sold in different days of the week.
(a) We have to draw a double bar graph choosing an appropriate scale.
(b) We have to find the day of the week in which the sales were maximum.
From the graph,
On saturday, the sales was maximum
(c) We have to find the total sales during the week.
Total sales during the week = 50 + 45 + 30 + 55 + 27 + 60
= 267
(d) We have to find the ratio of the minimum sale to the maximum sale.
From the graph,
Maximum sale = 60
Minimum sale = 27
Ratio = 27/60
= 9 : 20
(e) We have to calculate the average sale during the week.
Average sale = sum of sale during the week/number of days
Sum of sales = 50 + 45 + 30 + 55 + 27 + 60 = 267
Number of days = 6
Average sale = 267/6 = 44.5
(f) We have to find how many days of the week the sale was above the average sales.
From the graph,
The sale was above the average sales on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Number of days = 4
