Name the types of following triangles:
(а) Triangle with lengths of sides 7 cm, 8 cm, and 9 cm.
(b) ∆ABC with AB = 8.7 cm, AC = 7 cm and BC = 6 cm.
(c) ∆PQR such that PQ = QR = PR = 5 cm.
(d) ∆DEF with m∠D = 90°
(e) ∆XYZ with m∠Y = 90° and XY = YZ.
(f) ∆LMN with m∠L = 30°, m∠M = 70° and m∠N = 80°.

Solution:

We will use the properties of triangles and types of triangles to solve this.

(a) The triangle is a scalene triangle since the sides of the given triangle are all of different lengths.

(b) ∆ABC is a scalene triangle since AB ≠ AC ≠ BC

(c) The triangle is an equilateral triangle since all the sides of the triangle are equal.

(d) The triangle is a right-angle triangle since ∠D = 90°

(e) The triangle is an isosceles right-angled triangle since ∠Y = 90° and XY = YZ

(f) The triangle is an scalene acute triangle since ∠L = 30°, ∠M = 70° and ∠N = 80°.
