Mass of Mars is 6.42 × 1029 kg and mass of the Sun is 1.99 × 1030 kg. What is the total mass?
Solution:
Given, the mass of Mars is 6.42 × 1029 kg.
The mass of the Sun is 1.99 × 1030 kg.
We have to find the total mass.
Total mass = mass of Mars + mass of the Sun
= 6.42 × 1029 + 1.99 × 1030
= 6.42 × 1029 + 19.9 × 1029
= (6.42 + 19.9) × 1029
= 26.32 × 1029 kg
Therefore, the required total mass is 26.32 × 1029 kg.
