The model of the DNA chain is 17 cm long.

We have to find the actual length of the chain.

Let the actual length of the chain = x mm

According to the question,

2 cm / 0.0000001 mm = 17 cm / x mm

x = 17 × (0.0000001/2)

= 8.5 × 0.0000001

= 0.00000085 mm

Therefore, the actual length of the chain is 0.00000085 mm.
