Length of one of the diagonals of a rectangle whose sides are 10 cm and 24 cm is
(a) 25 cm
(b) 20 cm
(c) 26 cm
(d) 3.5 cm
Solution:
Given, the dimensions of a rectangle are 10 cm and 24 cm
We have to find the length of one of the diagonals of a rectangle.
Given, length of rectangle = 24 cm
Breadth of rectangle = 10 cm
We know, diagonal = √length²+breadth²
= √(24)² + (10)²
= √576 + 100
= √676
= 26 cm
Therefore, the required length of diagonal is 26 cm.
