The ratio of the number of remaining flowers to that of flowers in the beginning is 3 : 5
We have to find the flowers offered by him in the temple.
Let the total flowers in the beginning be 5x.
According to the question,
5x = 60
x = 60/5
x = 12 flowers
Total number of remaining flowers = 3x
= 3(12)
= 36 flowers
Number of flowers offered in the temple = total number of flowers - remaining flowers
= 60 - 36
= 24
Therefore, the number of flowers offered in the temple is 24 flowers.
