Solution:
Given, ABCD is a square
AB = 15 cm
We have to find the area of the square BDFE.
From the figure,
BD is the diagonal of the square ABCD.
Diagonal of square = side × √2
= 15√2 cm
So, the length of the side of square BDFE = 15√2 cm
Area of square = (side)²
= (15√2)²
= (15)² × 2
= 225(2)
= 450 cm²
Therefore, the area of square BDFE is 450 cm².
