Given, the points A, O and B are collinear.
Ray OC ⊥ ray OD
We have to determine if ∠AOC and ∠BOC are supplementary.
From the figure,
∠DOC = 90°
∠AOD = A°
∠BOC = 3a°
O is a point that lies on the line AB.
Considering ray OC,
We know that the linear pair of angles is always equal to 180 degrees.
So, ∠AOC + ∠BOC = 180°
When the sum of the measures of two angles is 180°, the angles are called supplementary angles.
Therefore, ∠AOC and ∠BOC are supplementary.
