(ii) Students of SC Category and ST Category taken together
Solution:
In 2009 - 10 total number of seats available = 49000
Seats available for students of general category = 28,200
(i) Therefore percentage of seats available for students of general category:
% seats (General Category) = (28,200/4900) × 100
= 57.55%
(ii) Students reserved for SC category = 7400
Students reserved for ST category = 3700
Total number of students for both categories = 7400 + 3700 = 11000
% of seats available for students of SC and ST category taken together
