In a factory, women are 35% of all the workers, the rest of the workers being men. The number of men exceeds that of women by 252. Find the total number of workers in the factory
Solution:
Let the total number of workers in the factory be N
Number of women workers = 0.35N--------(1)
Number of men workers = N - 0.35N = 0.65N--------(2)
0.65N - 0.35N = 252--------(3)
0.30N = 252
N = 252/0.3
= 840
Therefore there are a total of 840 workers in the factory.
