If p(x) = x² - 4x + 3, evaluate : p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2)
Solution:
Given, p(x) = x² - 4x + 3
We have to evaluate p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2)
p(2) = (2)² - 4(2) + 3
= 4 - 8 + 3
= 7 - 8
= -1
p(-1) = (-1)² - 4(-1) + 3
= 1 + 4 + 3
= 1 + 7
= 8
p(1/2) = (1/2)² - 4(1/2) + 3
= 1/4 - 4/2 + 3
= 1/4 - 2 + 3
= 1/4 + 1
= (1 + 4)/4
= 5/4
Now, p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2) = -1 - 8 + 5/4
= -9 + 5/4
= (-36 + 5)/4
= -31/4
Therefore, p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2) = -31/4
✦ Try This: If p(x) = 4x² - 6x + 4, evaluate : p(3) + p(1) + p(3)

If p(x) = x² - 4x + 3, evaluate : p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2)
Summary:
Trinomial is a type of polynomial that has three terms. If p(x) = x² - 4x + 3, then p(2) - p(-1) + p(1/2) is -31/4
