If one angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the other two, then the measure of that angle is ______. Fill in the blanks to make the statement true.
Solution:
Given, if one angle of a triangle is equal to the sum of the other two, then the measure of that angle is ________.
We have to fill in the blanks to make the statement true.
Let the angles be x, y and z.
According to the question,
x = y + z ---------------------------------- (1)
By angle sum property of a triangle,
We know that the sum of all the three interior angles of the triangle is equal to 180 degrees.
So, x + y + z = 180°
From (1),
x + x = 180°
2x = 180°
x = 180°/2
x = 90°
Therefore, the measure of the angle is 90°.
