x + 1 - 1 = 0 - 1

x = -1

(c) x - 1 = 5

Adding 1 to both sides of the equation we get,

x - 1 + 1 = 5 + 1

x = 6

(d) x + 6 = 2

Subtracting 6 from both sides of the equation we get,

x + 6 - 6 = 2 - 6

x = - 4

(e) y - 4 = - 7

Adding 4 to both sides of the equation we get,

y - 4 + 4 = -7 + 4

Subtracting 4 from both sides of the equation we get,
