Find the least square number which is exactly divisible by 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8.
Solution:
We have to find the least square number that is exactly divisible by 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8.
We know that the least square number divisible by the given set of numbers is the LCM of the given numbers.
On finding the LCM of 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8
Required LCM = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5
= 8 × 3 × 5
= 40 × 3
= 120
So, 120 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5
We observe that 2, 3 and 5 occur without a pair.
To get a perfect square, 120 × 2 × 3 × 5
= 120 × 30
= 3600
Therefore, the required least square number is 3600.
