Find the area of the shape given below:
Solution:
Area of the triangles D & E = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)
Where s = semiperimeter of the triangle = (a + b + c)/2
And a, b, c are sides of the triangle
Area of semicircles = 1/2π(r)²
Area of square = length × breadth
Area of the Field(A) = Area A + Area B + Area C + Area D + Area E
A = 1/2 × π × (3)² + 1/2 × π × (3)² + (6 × 6) + √8(8 - 5)(8 - 5)(8 - 6) +√8(8 - 5)(8 - 5)(8 - 6)
A = 9π/2 + 9π/2 + 6 × 6 + √(8)(3)(3)(2) + √(8)(3)(3)(2)
A = 9π + 36 + 4 × 3 + 4 × 3
A = 9π + 36 + 12 + 12
A = 28.3 + 60 = 88.3cm²
✦ Try This: Find the area of the shape given below:
Area of the triangles D & E = √s(s - a)(s - b)(s - c)
Where s = semiperimeter of the triangle = (a + b + c)/2
And a, b, c are sides of the triangle
Area of semicircles = 1/2π(r)²
Area of square = length × breadth
Area of the Field(A) = Area A + Area B + Area C + Area D + Area E
A = 1/2 × π × (3.5)² + 1/2 × π × (3.5)² + (7 × 7) + √7.5(7.5 - 4)(7.5 - 4)(7.5 - 7) + √7.5(7.5 - 4)(7.5 - 4)(7.5 - 7)
A = 38.5/2 + 38.5/2 + 7 × 7 + √45.9375 + √45.9375
A = 19.25 + 19.25 + 49 + 6.8 + 6.8
A = 38.5 + 49 + 13.6
A = 100.6cm²
