Angles between South and West and South and East are
a. Vertically opposite angles
b. Complementary angles
c. Making a linear pair
d. Adjacent but not supplementary
Solution:
Given, the figure represents four directions.
We have to find the angles between South and West and South and East.
From the figure,
We observe that the angle between South and West is 90 degrees
Similarly, the angle between South and East is 90 degrees
Required angle = angle between South and East and South and West
= angle between South and East + angle between South and West
= 90° + 90°
= 180°
We know that the linear pair of angles is always equal to 180 degrees.
Since the sum of angles is 180 degrees
Therefore, the required angle is supplementary angle.
